Sometimes I think God held a position of an office worker. Where “...a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day” (2 Peter 3:8). Someone once said, “Church work never ends”; enormous mountains of paper, administrative work, endless random things on your to do list, that are not even in your job description, and countless hours of starring at a computer screen. With that said, office work can be fun and it should be, otherwise we will all turn into very angry people who resemble anyone, but Christ. Oh Yes!, regarding office work fun, just the other day our web-admin Serzh Marchuk and I, along with all the other administrative titles that we carry, had a brief moment of ironic laughter in regards to our usual Christian Prayers.
It all sparked when I was creating the “24/7 Prayer” event on Facebook. Being puzzled on what to write to get more exposure, it dawned on me, it’s a God given opportunity. Hold it! Sounds like a cliche, I know. But I was thinking along the lines of MY prayers and the prayers of … basically everyone that I know. They sound something like this, “Lord give me more wisdom”, “I want to know You more”, or “I want to spend more time in Your presence”. C’mon, most likely you said these prayer too. BEHOLD!! (angelic Hymn playing), my prayers were answered! We are sometimes so busy that we don’t see that God is literally answering our prayers before our very eyes. Only He is answering in the form of an event or an opportunity.
I’ve figured something out, God being the righteous God that He is, will always present us with an opportunity to get what we’ve been asking for. It is at those times the true motives of our heart are shown. The scripture says, “Seek the Lord while He may be found; call on Him while He is near.” Isaiah 55:6. And another like it, “But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people...for he knew what was in each person” John 2:24,25. In other words, opportunities show to us and God what we are really made of.
In conclusion I would like to say, ladies and gentlemen, your prayer has been answered. What you do with it is up to you. Here is the
